Fresh seafood on Puget Sound. Harbor Lights is located on scenic Ruston Way, overlooking Commencement Bay in Tacoma. For over 50 years, Harbor Lights has become well known for serving colossal portions of seafood such as the four pound bucket of steamed clams. Harbor Lights was the dream of Anton Barcott, an immigrant from Yugoslavia. On January 26, 1959 Anton opened Harbor Lights among the lumber mills and shipyards along the waterfront. Anthony's Restaurants purchased Harbor Lights on April 29th, 2000 and warmly welcomes this landmark to the Anthony's family.

The Proctor District's charming storefronts and quaint older homes remind me of a small town movie set from 1950. The nearby University of Puget Sound serves as a hub of events and shows. Proctor has several restaurants, coffee shops, two supermarkets (the Metropolitan Market and a Safeway), a library, post office, bowling alley, and the historic Blue Mouse movie theater dating from 1923. The Proctor Farmer's Market takes place every Sat from mid March to mid Dec. The Proctor District is a 5 min drive or 26 min walk from the condo.

6th Ave is funky, artsy and a little grungy. A favorite hangout for nearby University of Puget Sound students for both studying and letting loose. Cool shops, day spas, boutiques, coffee shops, salons, restaurants, bars, and live music. 6th Ave is the historic dividing line between North Tacoma & Central Tacoma. Homes on both the north and south sides of the 6 ave are similar, but the price of homes on the south side of 6th ave are considerably more affordable. 6th Ave is at a crossroads between neighborhoods. 6th Ave Farmers Market that takes place every Tuesday in the spring and summer. 6th Ave. is a 5 min drive or 25 min walk from the condo.

Our neighborhood is known as the North Slope and is part of the National Historic Register. 24 hours a day you will find people walking, jogging and walking their dogs. The North Slope is filled with incredible 100 year old houses, giant trees and ocean views. No two houses are the same. Some of the best historic homes in Tacoma are here, most were built before 1930. Bing Crosby was born two block from the condo at 1112 N. J Street, Tacoma. The Large Mansion next door to the condo is the William Ross Rust House, built in 1905 for William Ross Rust, then President of the Tacoma Smelter and Refining Company. A few minutes by car or a short walk and you are in the Stadium District or Old Town. Slightly further and you are in the Proctor District or on 6th Ave. Hip Strip, slightly further and you are downtown, or at Point Defiance.
