Not in the immediate proximity, but definitely worth the drive or train ride! Maybe my favorite museum in Denmark. Both for the art, building, location and brunch.

If you go to Helsingør, you can't miss the great Elsinore castle known even from Shakespeare's Hamlet. It's situated by the harbor, gazing over to Sweden. Worth the visit, even only from the outside.

They also have a butcher and at least one good bakery in the main pedestrian street. There are several coffee shops, clothing stores, thrift stores and interior shops in this little town, and a nice area with old houses by the harbour. Gilleleje is 6 km from the summer house.
