Our region is full of historical monuments. one of them is the remains of the ancient city of Salona, dating back to the 3 centuries before our era, before the Roman empire and the Diocletian's palace. In this museum you can see the exhibits that come from the remains of Salona itself. The locality itself is also possible to visit. In summer time we recommend to go early in the morning or in the evening because it is on the open and is very hot.

A well-known sculptor Ivan Meštrović lived with his family for some time in Split. This family house has been donated to the city and is today in honor of the great artist of the Gallery with its exhibitions. The building itself is also a kind of exhibition because Mestrovic himself designed it.
