Food Scene

One of the most popular steakhouse in France, well-known for it's secret mustard sauce. Lots of people so you might have to queue a little bit before being seated. The menu is very easy: they only serve you a salad, followed by an entrecôte with fries and it's secret sauce. The desserts are good (I recommend the profiterole). As for the prices, a little expensive - approximately 27-37 EUR per person. No reservation is possible (because the restaurant is a success lol).

Very small Italian restaurant, 12 min walk from the house. It's family owned, so the staff is friendly, the food is homemade and the prices are correct (for a city like Paris). You better make a reservation before going because the place is small and so they might not have available seats.

A typical French restaurant that serves crepes (salted and sweet). I've tested it once and it's not bad a all if you like cheese with ham crepes especially like I do. It's always crowded so it's a good sign. The prices are correct & it's 10 min walk from home.

One of the best bakeries you will find in Paris. It's a must. You will find all the pain au chocolat, croissants & viennoiseries possible :) You can also go there around 11 am to grab sandwiches. Everything is homemade & the prices are good. Only setback is that it's takeaway only, you cannot sit there.

This is my own Lebanese restaurant in case you want to come say HI :) If you love houmous , tabouleh, "baba ganoush" and eating good fresh homemade lebanese mezze than you will find your paradise. The restaurant is located 7 min away from the glamorous Buttes Chaumont park, so you can come takeaway/eat-in before or after visiting the parc. The prices are very interesting. Let me know if you plan on visiting one day so I can put in a word to my staff.

La Rotonde is a French chic brasserie located near the house. You will find lots of tourists there because the place is known worldwide, I even think that popular movies were shot in that restaurant. It's a little bit expensive but if you want to give it a try go ahead :) I advise you to make a reservation before.

Parks & Nature

"The Buttes-Chaumont Park, in the north-east of Paris, is one of the biggest and original green spaces in Paris, measuring 25 hectares. Its construction on quarries explains its impressive steepness and change in levels and heights. Visitors can appreciate stunning views of the city from this hilly setting, especially in the Montmartre district. The layout gives it a particular charm: caves and waterfalls, a suspended bridge, and a high viewpoint. It is brightened up with exotic, indigenous trees and numerous birds (seagulls, moorhens, and mallard ducks) share the area and enjoy the artificial lake."

"Situated on the border between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, inspired by the Boboli Gardens in Florence, were created upon the initiative of Queen Marie de Medici in 1612. The gardens, which cover 25 hectares of land, are split into French gardens and English gardens. Between the two, lies a geometric forest and a large pond. There is also an orchard with a variety of old and forgotten apples, an apiary for you to learn about bee-keeping and greenhouses with a collection of breathtaking orchids and a rose garden. The garden has 106 statues spread throughout the park, the monumental Medici fountain, the Orangerie and the Pavillon Davioud."

"The famous gardener of King Louis XIV, André Le Nôtre, re-landscaped the gardens in 1664 to give them their current French formal garden style. The gardens, which separate the Louvre from the Place de la Concorde, are a cultural walking place for Parisians and tourists where Maillol statues stand alongside those of Rodin or Giacometti. The gardens’ two ponds are perfect for relaxation. The Musée de l’Orangerie, where visitors can admire the works of Monet, is located south-west of Tuileries. From March to December, free tours in French are organized."
