Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. It is a primary source of the North Fork or Henrys Fork, and is famous for its large trout. Big Springs is the only first-magnitude spring that issues from rhyolite lava flows.
Next to Big Springs is a log cabin built by Johnny Sack in 1929. The cabin is open to visitors.
