The Biltsche Duinen is a nice forest just across the road where dogs do not need to be kept on a leash.
Take the path across the road next to ‘ de Witte Den (white house) and follow it to the left.
The Biltsche Duinen has some nice sand plaines, a horsestable and fields and old beech lanes. It allows for circular walks from 30 to around 60 minutes. From the Biltschre Duinen you can also go onwards to the Panbos (also allowing dogs unleashed) and Houdringe and Beerschoten

Amsterdam Noord is a great place to visit with lots of nice restaurants, galleries, the film museum and street art museum.
Great places to eat are de Goudfazant Pllek (NSDM area), and also the restaurant at the film museum is quite good.
For a swim go the Florapark bad; it has been awarded for its architecture.
Amsterdam West
Also a great place where we lived up till three years ago.
I recommend westerpark with lots of nice restaurants, coffeebars and all. There is also a cinema.
For a swim, the Bredius bad is really good!
I love the pizza’s of Buurman&Buurman which you can find at several locations in Amsterdam West. The one near the Erasmus park being my favourite.
I love ‘roti’ , a surinam/indian dish which you can order to take away. Our personal favourite is Ram’s roti at the Jan van Galenstraat. Chicken, lamb and vegetarian are all very nice! Amsterdam is also a great restaurant near the Westerpark. You need to make a reservation in advance.
Furthermore the vietnamese and indian restaurants at the haarlemmerstraat are good value for money.
Great healthy streetfood is the falaffel of Maoz in Amsterdam. Great salad bar and fresh sauces. Several locations in Amsterdam.
My favourite museums are the Tropenmuseum in west as well as the Rijksmuseum and Scheepvaartmuseum (the last mainly for its location).
