If you’re really interested in exploring TN, a trip to Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary is a great visit. The prison housed James Earl Ray, the man convicted of killing Dr. Martin Luther King. Since reopening for tourism, a distillery and restaurant were added on site. It’s a 2+ hour drive from our homes.
