Seal shore campsite leads down to Lower Kildonan. Here you are near to Silversands beach , a lovely beach with interesting geology. Also further along the coast( within walking distance) is seal shore. Again, interesting geology, stunning views over the Clyde, taking in Pladda and Ailsa Craig. A good chance to see seals in quite close proximity, possibly you may see otters here too. Beautiful surroundings .

A fabulous walk alongside the fast waters of the glen, some pools are deep enough to take a dip in. The walk goes right up towards Caistel Abnail taking in terrific views of the coast and surrounding areas.

Climb Goatfell, via Higher Corrie. To get to a small carpark, turn up a single track to Higher Corrie then begin the stunning climb to the summit. Passing through fantastic scenery, clear waterfall follow the designated track to The Saddle. This is where my first two photos are taken. Then along the track to the summit. Clear views on a good day will take your breath away. Take the Brodick way down, steep steps fashion the path then the track splits down to the Corrie track so you can get to the car park.

The highest mountain on Arran at 874 m. I personally climbed via higher Corrie but there are other ways to try. I went with my daughter Pictured here. The views are breath taking on a clear day. It took me awhile to get there, but it was really worth going.

Just over the Kilbrannan sound is Skipness castle and the famous Skipness Seafood cabin. To visit involves a short ferry crossing from Lochranza to Claonaig. You could leave your vehicle on Arran if you fancy a scenic walk along the coast road, apprx 2 miles . If you take the car its also worth visiting Tarbert , this lovely harbour town boasts shops, eateries and another castle ruin. The food at Skipness smokehouse is divine and well worth visiting.

Most golf courses on the island are open for visitors to use. I have added this particular one for the food served there. ( I don't play golf) Duncans on the green is fabulous for food. Duncan offers eat in or takeaway options, checkout his social media page for deals. It is always busy and the food is good value, locally sourced as much as possible and absolutely delicious! One of my favourite places to eat.

Very popular little place overlooking the sea at Corrie. Booking is advisable in season. Takeaways are an option too, as well as being able to buy ingredients to cook up a fish dish of your own.
