Gotta-See-Its (Places)
A two minute walk from our front door, this park provides the absolute best view of Milwaukee's skyline. We love to take the path located at the top of the hill down to Kadish park, which is directly south of Resevoir Park, and then follow it onto the Oak Leak Trail. Follow it down to Lakefront Brewery and their cheese curds or continue across the historic Holton Street Bridge towards Brady street.
**In the winter, there is a great sledding hill on the N Bremen Street side of the park. We keep a few sleds in our coat closet for it.

Kilbourn Reservoir Park

Known for their Friday fish fry's, top-notch cheese curds, hilarious (and generous) brewery tours, and - of course - beer, this place is a Milwaukee staple. In summer months, they have a lively patio right on the river (that's right, no lakes in sight.) In the winter, they have cozy little riverfront "greenhouses" you can reserve for dinner time. Some nights there is live polka music, other nights, drag bingo.
Take a look at their calendar and stroll on over there - it is a lovely 11 minute walk from the house.

Cervecería Lakefront
1872 N Commerce StKnown for their Friday fish fry's, top-notch cheese curds, hilarious (and generous) brewery tours, and - of course - beer, this place is a Milwaukee staple. In summer months, they have a lively patio right on the river (that's right, no lakes in sight.) In the winter, they have cozy little riverfront "greenhouses" you can reserve for dinner time. Some nights there is live polka music, other nights, drag bingo.

Located in the Shorewood neighborhood, which is home to some beautiful late 1800s and early 1900s lakefront mansions.

This well loved Milwaukee roaster has several cafes throughout the city, but this one is our favorite. Located in what used to be an old water treatment facility, it's got a unique interior and, during warmer months, a popular patio.
Colectivo's main roasting facility (aka where the coffee bean magic happens) is right in our neighborhood, on Humbolt! We love this cafe just as much - during the week, you'll likely catch them roasting a fresh batch of beans.

When German immigrants flocked to Milwakee in the late 1800s, they brought with them some fantastic traditions, one of them being a love for beer gardens. The city has kept this tradition alive, with many several gardens throughout the city.
The one in Hubbard Park is our personal favorite, as it's wooded and right on the Milwaukee river. We like to get there via a 14 minute bike ride, which mostly follows the Oak Leaf Trail (city bike path).

Whether you're on the hunt for something in particular or just love to window shop, Milwaukee has some great antique stores. This three (or is it four?) story building is one of the biggest. Clockwork antiques is another favorite.

We recommend paddling up the river towards downtown, where you can see an old railroad swinging bridge and possibly dock at Milwaukee Ale House for a beverage.
The kayak company shares a parking lot with Boone & Crocket, a popular bar and food truck patio, which makes for convenient post paddle drinking and dining. Tacos taste extra great after a couple hours of paddling!
