Many people visiting Big Pine Key enjoy getting out into the ocean for excellent snorkeling and diving. Looe Key is located approximately 7 miles off shore and provides the perfect location to see stunning sea life. It is widely regarded as one of the clearest and best reefs for snorkeling and diving in the Keys. If you’re visiting Big Pine Key with children, there are numerous wonderful activities that will get them out for the day. The Theater of the Sea and the National Key Deer Refuge are great options for the whole family. If you would like to spot some of the many alligators that reside in the area, then you should head to the Blue Hole.

SeaBird Marina about 10 minutes west of the property. It's $35 for use of the ramp. The public ramp near the house is closed until the end of 2023 for renovations. The next public ramp is at Founder's Park about 25 minutes before you get to the house.
