Sightseeing

The rain forest walk is breath taking and takes you on a board walk above a fresh water stream, if you look up you'll see how tall the trees are as well as the historic rail track that still remains. Logging on Fraser Island started in the mid 1800’s, and it is amazing how much the forests of Fraser Island have recovered from the logging days all those years ago. During this episode, we discovery and explore Fraser Islands history around Postans Logging Camp, one of the old logging camps and wonder around Central Station, which was pretty much base camp for the logging industry back in the late 1800’s and into the early 1900’s.

Get in quick to see this ship wreck as its almost all gone, it is really amazing to see how much of the ship is left and is so photogenic. The Maheno, the most famous of the Fraser Island wrecks, was driven ashore just north of Happy Valley during a cyclone in 1935.
