Solid Taiwanese farmer/laborer/trucker/surfer food in a, shall we say, unpretentious environment. The opposite of fancy. This is my go-to after-surf spot; usually open about 10:30-1pm, fresh at first, ravaged by the end. Go early. Under 100NT for a big plate.

Train transit north and south. Direct bus to and from the bus stop 60m from my house (about 60NT). Car and scooter rental places with 100m (they require an International Driver's Permit or Taiwanese Driver's License).

In winter there's often a campfire. Live music most Saturdays. Quiet and chill unless the band isn't. Often closed Su/Mo/Tu and/or We, but open weekends.
