You may feel you’ve been transplanted suddenly to a much hipper town than little old Bishop. The drinks are delightful and the food is fun (albeit limited). On weekend nights PiÑon Pizza shows up with their mobile, wood-fired pizza oven. Such a treat!

Bodie State Historic Park is an authentic California Gold-mining Ghost Town. At one time it had a population of almost 10,000 people. Totally worth the drive (about 200 miles, one way). Stop in Lee Vining at Latte Da Cafe for great food and amazing coffee.
