Food Scene

I've eaten here several times with friends and we've always been happy with the food and service. Good food at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly. A bit more upmarket than regular pub food. Lovely views over the district.

A good Japanese place for 'take away' although there are a few tables to eat at. Besides freshly made sushi, it also has a range of hot dishes e.g Teriyaki beef rice, Spicy Pork or Chicken rice, Tempura Udon, Chicken Curry.

It has really good coffee and friendly service. It's handy as it's in the middle of the Moorooka shops near the large supermarket. It's also the only coffee shop in Moorooka!

A little hole in the wall that has great coffee, healthy bagels and home made cakes. The people that run it are super friendly and it's a real local coffee place.

Entertainment & Activities

Southbank has a wonderful array of parklands and activities where you can walk, picnic, BBQ or go to a cafe or restaurant and visit a pub or bar. It even has its own beach, man made of course where you can swim or sunbake. It runs alongside the river and is opposite the city centre so some good sightseeing. There is a train station there for easy access as well as bus stops and you can take the Citycat to travel up or down the river. You can hire bicycles to get around. A few minutes walk along from Southbank are the Art Gallery, GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art), the Museum and State Library. These have cafes in them that offer lovely river views and there are generally some interesting exhibitions on .
