You can get great prices on local and exported goods at Calle Santander. You'll find handmade jewerly and handcrafts. Beautiful textiles, clothing, coffee, chocolate, etc. You'll also find unique coffee shops and restaurants throughout this street. Vendors usually ask for a higher price so you both can bargain. They usually lower the price. Just keep in mind that indigenous communities have been systematically marginalized and usually live in poverty. So even if you know you could bargain for a lower price, please remember that you can help someone make a good sale that day.

Weather here is varied. In the mornings and evenings you'll find cool weather, but it's always hot at noon. Layers of clothing is the best strategy. Comfortable shoes is a must because you'll be walking a lot around town.

Always wear life jackets whenever you go on a boat, specially if it's full.

There's a nature reserve in Panajachel where you'll find a butterfly house, ziplines, green areas, etc. They'll love it!
