Absolute best gourmet Mexican cuisine. A little pricey but the margaritas are the best you'll ever have and the lobster nachos are exquisite.

We are always on the lookout for breakfast places and since losing a few of our favorites in Asheville, recently found this hidden gem. This perfect mom and pop with a low key but pleasant atmosphere has amazing options for breakfast and lunch. We ate here once and kept coming back every morning for a week before we had to tie ourselves to the mast. Perfect for conversations and everything on the menu is handmade with completely moderate prices.

Pizza to die for that is more likely to make you live longer. Preferred ingredients with tasty gf options. The Campari or Goat Cheese pizzas and wine selection will have you coming back for more.

Wow, wow, and wow. When you can get in, this place has tacos which are a sin not to eat. I haven't had the cricket tacos, but the buffalo chicken with house made pickles and ranch are so delicious I want one right now. Excellent vibe and food and drinks are superb.

Have you had Cider on draft? I realize it's a pub, but it's brightly lit, the food is pretty good and there's usually music. Good option for cooling off after a long day of fun and you can buy a cool t-shirt. Cider is gluten free and you've never tasted it until you've had it made from scratch onsite straight from the tap.

At the heart of Asheville's art district, this brewery has our vote for best local brewery. Whether you try the Pilsner in spring and summer or the Raspberry chocolate stout in fall and winter, you won't taste better beer in the moment. Outdoor seating and local fare is best appreciated after a tour of the River Arts District artist's shops within easy walking distance. The community is always growing so don't miss the newest addition 1 minute down the road. Lot's of Graffiti signals that you're getting closer, the roundabouts remind you it's probably city planned for another example of Asheville's unique approach to culture and the arts.

This Gem has every kind of chocolate, all hand-made, all amazing, original creations in a clean, open atmosphere. Sometimes (usually) has a line, but it's worth it. A second door with a desk below the main entrance offers limited selection of the same menu. Sipping chocolate, truffles, cakes, desserts, etc. You won't regret it.

Float down the French broad river past the largest private residence in America, the Biltmore Estate. Hike for miles or just a few hundred feet and swim in the refreshing pool below a waterfall on the blue ridge parkway. Why a picture of a tortoise? I'll tell you why. Be prepared to stop and wander down main street in this classic small-town relic of the old days. An outdoor mall of private shops and restaurant awaits the curios. Visit Sir Tom's Tobacco Emporium to make the smoky mountains even smokier or sample the cricket tacos at Never Blue. Find great pizza at West First or just a drink in their separate tavern below with a killer atmosphere. When it's too hot to stroll around, take a 15 minute drive from downtown to the famous triple falls where the last of the Mohicans was filmed, and don't forget to swim at the giant pool below hooker falls. On the way home you can spoil your dinner with a classic ice cream shop before you go left to Brevard or Right back to Hendersonville for dinner. Just be prepared to take your time. There's a lot of relaxation to find here if you're listening.
