Neighborhoods
Cambridge is the home to a couple of schools you may have heard of. Harvard and MIT...ring a bell? Cambridge boasts having an urban intellectual vibe (Thanks to those little schools I mentioned before). There are a slew of Restaurants, bars, and cafe's lining the streets, while parks and jogging paths wind along the Charles river. If you want a leisurely day exploring incredible architecture, walking down the winding path of the Charles, or gorging yourself on delicious food, then Cambridge is the place to be....don't forget to take a glimpse of the North End from across the river. In my opinion it is the best view of Boston

Well since you are staying here its pretty hard to miss, but luckily there is so much to explore in South Boston. South Boston is a up and coming city with a dirty past (i.e Whitey Bulger). Broadway is the main drag of Southie where you will find bars, restaurants and boutiques. Make your way down Broadway and you will find the beach. Enjoy watching windsurfers along Pleasure Bay, walk along Castle Island, or enjoy some sun on Carson beach. For a more historical side of Southie take a stroll up Telegraph Hill (I am being poetic when I say stroll...its a big freaking hill, but worth it for the views). LOCAL TIP: The best Pizza in Southie is Red Line Pizza right next to Andrew Station (yes, it looks sketchy..part of its charm). Order the Buffalo Chicken Ranch pizza...You're Welcome.

Rich, Sophisticated, home of the most photographed street in America. Beacon Hill is a collection of incredible architecture, amazing shopping, and direct access to Boston Commons. Take a walk through the winding cobblestone streets, Take a photo on Acorn Street, then make your way down Charles Street to enjoy the ambiance and cafe's. Stretching the length of Boylston Street, from Mass Ave to Arlington Street, the Back Bay is Boston's epicenter for shopping, sleeping, dining, and drinking. Stop by the Prudential Center for some indoor shopping, walk along Boyleston street to see beautiful Gothic Churches, and in the winter PLEASE make your way to L.A Burdick for the best Hot Chocolate in the city.
Take a stroll through Boston's own Little Italy. You will make your way to this neighborhood while on the freedom trail, but I highly suggest taking your time to explore this vibrant and historical part of Boston. Some of the best food can be found in this part of the city, and the neighborhood itself is nothing short of picturesque .
Places to eat:
$$$ Mama Maria's- right next to Paul Reveres house, it is a quaint (and tiny) restaurant with the BEST Lobster Ravioli I have ever experienced.
$$ Carmelina's - Amazing Pasta dishes and incredibly popular with the locals. If you are looking for a home style Italian meal then this is your place.
$ Regina Pizzeria- I hate to admit when a ridiculously popular tourist destination is worth it...but this one is. The pizza is spectacular and worth the trip.
Don't forget the Dessert! If you walk around you will see the classic white and blue box from Mike's Pastry, although the desserts are amazing its not worth the huge line that tends to collect there. I suggest walking right down the street to Modern Pastry. The desserts are just as divine, without the wait!

Tour guides dressed in their best period clothing take you through the night of the famed "Boston tea Party". After taking in all the rich history make your way up to Abigail's Tea Room and have a scone and some tea. Its a great way to spend an afternoon on the Channel.

Not only is the museum filled with amazing things for kids, but it is also located right on the water, and right next to Tea Party Museum. Its a great place to tire out your kids and then continue exploring the history of Boston.

If you need a day out of the city and a place for the kiddos, make your way to the Franklin Park Zoo. There is plenty of free parking, and the zoo itself is great! Clothing you should pack
-Good walking shoes (This is a walking city)
-A wind breaker..let me repeat a WINDBREAKER (even in 60 degree weather the wind off the ocean is a killer)
-A backpack for carrying water and snacks. There are a lot of food trucks (see food truck guide for suggestions) and stores, but you will get gouged on prices anywhere touristy.
-Any Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and or Red Sox gear is welcome here. This is a sports town and we wear it with pride...don't rep the Yankees...don't be that guy.
