Marienplatz Square, the trendy gathering place in the south of Stuttgart, is the terminus – or departure point – of the “Zacke” rack railway. It links Marienplatz with the district of Degerloch, some 200 metres higher in altitude, and is the only rack railway in Germany that is an integral part of the local public transport network.The “Zacke” station is just 50 metres from the Citytour bus stop. The trip up to Degerloch only takes ten minutes. Here you can either rejoin the Citytour (please note departure times) or take the “Zacke” back down again.
