Can anyone say ambience? The Hell’s Backbone Grill is a great location for a special occasion. It’s the place to see and be seen for travelers and locals and offers comfort food with a twist at a slightly higher price point. They grow much of their food on their local farm and offer a cookbook of recipes and local history. This restaurant has a full liquor license and also serves brunch Saturday and Sunday.

Wow, a real different experience dining in the middle of nowhere. Sweetwater Kitchen is located at the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, a few miles down the Hell’s Backbone Road 6 miles from Hills and Hollows gas station in Boulder. Super relaxing with a view down the draw from outdoor deck seating. And the food? Incredible. Only open for dinner, call in advance as they occasionally close for weddings.

A very special museum displaying native artifacts and a traditional pit house on an excavated site. You’ll find Magnolia’s taco bus there in the parking lot for a quick bite or packed lunch, a park with swings, grass and shade!
