Metfield
Metfield is a friendly village set on the edge of the Waveney Valley surrounded by rolling fields. It has a well stocked shop selling local produce , beers and wine. The newly opened Jungle cafe serves delicious breakfasts, lunches and afternoon tea and sells a wide range of indoor plants .
The first Saturday of the month there is a community cafe plus local stalls in the village hall.
Lots of footpaths that loop around and through the village of various lengths. Winks Meadow belongs to The Suffolk Wildlife Trust and is a carpet of orchids in the early summer.

Harleston is the nearest market town 5 miles away just over the Norfolk border.
It has a bank, petrol station and Co op supermarket and many independent shops: grocers, butchers, bakery, shoe shop, gift shops and cafes. Early closing Thursday
Halesworth on the way to the coast has good car parking and a pedestrian thoroughfare with excellent independent shops. Thursday is early closing. Yes this still happens in Suffolk!
The Co op supermarket and petrol station are on the ring road.
other market towns within easy reach of Metfield are Framlingham, Bungay and Beccles. Beccles has several large supermarkets Lidl, Tesco and Morrisons. Beccles and Bungay early closing Weds for small shops.
