While in Dubrovnik definitely go to the island of Lokrum for one afternoon. Lokrum is a small island across the Old City of Dubrovnik. There is a ferry that goes from the Old City port every 30 min (I think), You buy tickets in the port in the Old City. Untouched nature , lot of rabbits and cockpits walking around. You can visit Old monastery and a fort on top of the island. There are two bars and two restaurants to have lunch.

The sixth largest island in Croatia, Korcula is 20 miles long and rather narrow, between 4 and 5 miles wide on average. This island is known for its dense forest and the ancient Greeks called the island Black Korcula (Kerkyra melaina) for this reason. The main resorts are Korcula Town (people call it “Little Dubrovnik” because of its medieval squares, churches, palaces and houses), Vela Luka and Lumbarda. There’s also smaller towns and villages dotted around on the island for those looking for a more secluded holiday.

Mljet – the green island. The Ogygia of Homer's Odyssey. According to legend, the nymph Calypso, lover of the Greek hero Odysseus, chose this island as her home. The beauty of the island was the only beauty surpassing hers, making Odysseus, that eternal traveler, stay there for years. Are there any facts in the legend? Some historians are convinced that, by describing Ogygia. Mljet is the first Adriatic national park, the beauty of which keeps inviting the passenger to return to this place of permanent and constantly renewed discovery.

City/town information

Kotor is located at the end of Boka Kotorska (Bay of Kotor) where the Mount Lovcen and the sea cuddle the town. Kotor is a town which belongs to a very “young” country, Montenegro, even though founded in 2006 as an independent country, the area has a deep and unique history and cultural richness dating back to Neolithic ages. Kotor is an excellent combination of natural, cultural and historical beauties which makes the town worth visiting even more than once in a life time. For being close to the highlights of Montenegro such as Lake Skadar, Porto Montenegro and Budva, Kotor and the Old Town of Kotor are the pearls of Adriatic.

Medjugorje is a town located in southwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of Mostar and 20 km (12 mi) east of the border with Croatia. The town is part of the Čitluk municipality and geographically part of Herzegovina. Since 1981, it has become a popular site of Catholic pilgrimage due to Our Lady of Međugorje, an alleged series of apparitions of Mary, mother of Jesus, to six local children that are still happening to this day.

Boat rental

I would really recommend taking a private boat or a sailboat for a day and have skipper take you to our beautiful islands. They also take you to see some caves, and interested places you can not reach on foot while on the island. This is a great way to spend a day. We have several options to recommend and book for you that our previous guests decided upon, and were really satisfied. Sailboat, speed boat, full or half day or panorama tour.

Oysters in bay of Mali Ston

The Dalmatian coast has a very long history of mariculture. Traces of primitive oyster farming-petrified oak branches with attached oyster shells-were noted by Roman chroniclers. The first written documents date from the time of the Dubrovnik Republic. Records from the 17th Century provide details on the collection and sale of oysters.

Getting arround

Local bus is really good type of transportation in Dubrovnik. You have a bus stop to and from the city on the right hand side from the house, 5 min walking distance. Buses 1A and 1B go every 15 min, and go till midnight or 2 am depending on the month, you would need to check. Bus ticket price is 15kuna per person per way, and it would take you approximately 20 minutes to get to the Old city, depending on traffic. If you are with the car, I would not suggest going to the Old City by one, due to lack of parking spaces and high price if you find one.
