Near Soulwoods
While there are many and varied destinations to visit within a 30 minutes from Soulwoods, we encourage guests to make some time to 'just be' in our uniquely serene location. If you must venture out and about here are some of our favourite local places.
A scenic 15 minute drive up into the hills behind the small village of Eudlo lies Chenrezig Buddhist Institute. Established in 1974, the Institute was among the first Tibetan Buddhist centres in the Western World and remains one of the largest.
The centre is home to a tibetan teacher, a large number of nuns and monks and a thriving community of students, volunteers and guests. Various courses and classes are ran at the centre. Daily morning (7:30am) and evening (6:00pm) Dharma practice (Gompa) are open to the public and often talks, classes and guided meditiation (by donation) feature.
Peaceful grounds to wander through, prayer wheels to be spun and stupas to be pondered.

Big Love Cafe at Chenrezig (Thurs - Sun 7am - 6:30pm) serves good value home style vegeatarian food in a relaxed and mindful manner with gluten and dairy free options. Lunch or supper bookings required by 10am on the day. Lunch 12:00-1:00pm Supper 5:30-6:30pm
