According to them, Persy's Place has the largest breakfast menu in New England, but we've yet to fact check them. This location is in downtown Plymouth, but there's also a Kingston location just around the corner from the house (you can find it on Google Maps).

This place is located right in downtown plymouth and is AMAZING. Indoor/outdoor seating, friendly scene and fabulous food. You'll be missing out if you don't try the tuna tar tar appetizer!

Insanely good Italian food. A little upscale/pricey, so I'd think twice before bringing kids.

A lot of the tourists go to the Lobster Hut next door, but they are totally missing out. Wood's Seafood is really good. Whether you're buying lobsters and oysters to bring back to the house, or looking for fried clams/shrimp to dine in, you can't go wrong with this place. Their clam chowder is first rate!

Great place for drinks, apps and dinner. Not the kid-friendliest menu -- but adults will love it!

Inexpensive burger bar that has something for everyone (even my vegetarian daughter!). There's usually a bit of a wait so bring your kids . . . but not when they need to eat right away!

Island Creek Oysters are farmed on beds right outside your door - on Duxbury and Kingston Bays. If you haven't tried one, you'll be missing out. Swing into the shop and pick up a dozen, let them show you how to shuck them, and bring them back to the house. If you send the kids out clamming, invariably they will come back with a few oysters too -- consider yourself lucky!

Sightseeing

Don't bother with the fishing charter, you can catch stripers from the lawn at dusk/dawn (depending on the tide) -- just watch for the diving birds. I would, however, recommend using Captain John for a whale watch. They take you out past P-Town and always see whales -- it's quite an experience and a nice leisurely boat ride.

Really? You're located about 4 miles from Plymouth Rock and you're not going to at least see it? Be prepared to be underwhelmed, but you can at least check that off you list!

Okay, this seems kinda corny, but it's actually worth it. If you have any interest in history you can hop on a replica of the Mayflower (yup, that's the ship the Pilgrims sailed over) and see what it was like for them. You'd be surprised how relatively small the ship is and the conditions under which they had to travel. Took my kids a few years ago and they enjoyed it.

Okay, I admit I haven't done this myself, but friends who have said it's a lot of fun. They walk you around historic plymouth at night and tell ghost stories.

If you had a boat, you could get there in 30 mins, but by car plan for 1-1/2 hours (without traffic). It's a fun and very colorful town with great shops and restaurants. Well worth the day trip.

If you want to experience a real treat, dive over to Duxbury Beach. You won't have a beach sticker so you'll have to park on the near side of the bridge and walk over -- but it's well worth it (especially if you're looking for a romantic walk at sunset). The bridge is 1/4 mile long, so pack light and get prepared to hear the kids say that their feet hurt and need to be carried :)

Arts & Culture

If you're a history buff, you need to visit Plymouth Plantation and experience what life was like during the late 17th Century. It's a living museum where you can Interact with the actors who will not break character, but will answer your questions. It's really a lot of fun (and educational)
