A tiny place nestled on a corner, with friendly owners and fab coffee. Superb piece of street art on the wall outside which forms one panel in a street art comic created by a Brazilian artist. All the other panels are in Rio except this and one other in another London spot.

Super-friendly owners, an eclectic crowd, artsy and musicky. I love the "vegana clasica" vegan sandwich with grilled mediterranean vegetables and hummus. I eat here way too often as it is halfway between the tube and the flat...!

The taps are identified only by number because the menu is changed and re-printed daily, and the only wine on offer is "sauvignon blanc" or "merlot". If you're a beer fan, this is the place to go.

Set in Mile End Park, the ecology pavilion is surrounded by little marshes, trees and wildflowers. Mile End Park itself is a gorgeous park to walk through, with varied areas including wooded walks and open playing fields.

Victoria Park is officially the nation's favourite park, having won the People's Choice in the Green Flag Awards for two years running. It's beautiful at any time of year but it was only the thought of sunlight hitting the yellow and brown leaves after a rainstorm that got me through my early-morning runs in the autumn! There's a boating lake, a Chinese pagoda, rose gardens, open fields, sport facilities and cafes all set within the park and pubs at every corner!

It's beautiful at any time of year but it was only the thought of sunlight hitting the yellow and brown leaves after a rainstorm that got me through my early-morning runs in the autumn! There's a boating lake, a Chinese pagoda, rose gardens, open fields, sport facilities and cafes all set within the park and pubs at every corner!
