This is a small supermarket open 24/7 which is handy for grabbing things you need for daily use. The prices are in the higher end so you would probably not wan't to do all your shopping there.

Laugardalslaug is the largest swimming pool in Reykjavik. It is more than a swimming pool and offers hot tubs of all temperatures and sizes. My favorite is the hot tub with salt water. There are also a large slide for kids of all ages.
You should take notice of the strict rule of bathing thoroughly before entering common swimming pools in Iceland. The locals are very sensitive about that and are annoyed when guests ignore it and prefer to bath in the pool itself.
By keeping the hygiene standards in the pools high the use of chlorine can be kept at minimum and makes the pools even more pleasant.

If you walk through the Laugardalur park it is worth stopping by the remains of Reykjaviks old washing place which was used up until 1930. Women used to bring laundry to the hot spring in the Laugardalur valley and stood there in all weathers washing their own and others laundry. The hot spring is now dried up but an information stand has been set up and a statue of a washing woman by the artist Asmundur Sveinsson honours these hard working women.
