Food Scene

If you eat out once in Port Fairy, you should go there. It's a really cool pizza/bar. Affordable prices, great atmosphere and awesome food. We recommend booking because it can get busy.

Our friend's cafe, located down a laneway. Look for the yellow bike on Sackville St! Great breakfast/lunch and a good offering of healthier whole food style light bites. Good for vegetarians/vegans. A favourite of ours.

Great cafe with extensive breakfast/lunch menu. Food is excellent. Large portions and vegetarian/vegan friendly. Unfortunately the coffee isn't great but don't let that distract you from the great food.

For a nicer evening meal or drink (date night) we like Conlan's Wine Store (on Bank St). They have a great selection of local wines and do fantastic food, well worth the money. It's also got a nice wine bar atmosphere - especially if you book the communal table in the wine room.

Don't leave without trying Poco Ice-cream. Its got a bit of a cult following and will often have lines around the corner but its completely worth it. The flavours change daily so theres always something new to try!

The best coffee in town by far. Other coffee can be hit and miss in Port Fairy so if coffee is your thing, seek this place out!

The Merrijig Inn has real old world charm. It has a great garden bar which overlooks the river and is open most days from 3pm-7pm. If the sun is out and you feel like a drink, we'd head there. They also have a really cosy front bar if the weather isn't so great. The food is also excellent and locally sourced.
