Parks & Nature

Great walks around Haweswater (I would recommend parking in Burnbanks and following the western shoreline), and also above haweswater - spectacular views! There is a car park at the southern end of the reservoir, with marvellous walks up to Blea Water, Small water and High Street - the famous Roman road running high up on the fells between Brougham and Ambleside.

Food Scene

Both a cafe by day and a restaurant by night, the Haweswater has some great food, and friendly service. Quirky 1920s interior.

Ullswater Steamers are a great way to see Ullswater and the surrounding hills. It is great to combine the steamer with a walk, the best one being to park at Howtown, walk to Glenridding and get the ferry back. Two cafes on the route.
