Sightseeing
Iona, a 20 minute drive, (turn left when leaving the driveway) has gorgeous scenic views. It is home to the Highland Village which also has beautiful views and will give you a close up of what it was like when the first Scots came to Cape Breton.

Iona, a 20 minute drive, (turn left when leaving the driveway) has gorgeous scenic views. It is home to the Highland Village which also has beautiful views and will give you a close up of what it was like when the first Scots came to Cape Breton.
This is the jewel of our Island. It has spectacular views of our Atlantic shore line. You can do the tour in a day but 2 with an overnight stay would be much better. I would recommend starting the tour by going through Baddeck then heading for the trail via the Englishtown ferry. That will keep you on the outside lane for better views.

Cabot Trail

Baddeck is a beautiful little village that has a whole lot to offer the sightseer, shopper, and history buff. If you have the time touring the Alexander Graham Bell Museum is a must.

The Louisbourg Fortress is a must see sight. It is about 1 1/2 hr. drive from our location. It’s an excellent view into the past when England and France were fighting for control of the New World. It is well worth the drive but try to pick a sunny day to do so.
