There is only one road into Kenai Fjords National Park, where you can visit the Nature center, hike to a view of Exit Glacier, or embark in the much more strenuous, but phenomenal Harding Icefield Trail Hike.

An easy drive from Seward, the road ends at the Lowell Point State Recreation Site. Park at the lower lot to enjoy this lovely beach just a few steps from your car. If you are looking for a longer hike to a beach, check out Tonsina Point Trail accessed from the upper parking lot.

Mount Marathon Race Point is a difficult hike, with incredible views above treeline (about 1,500 feet). If you want to avoid the steep, loose shale higher on the race point trail, you can head up the jeep trail and then toward the Marathon Bowl - an incredible summer destination. Plus you can walk to this trailhead from The Little Yellow House!
