A lovely place to sit to have a drink and a cake after walking the shores of rosemarkie. Dog friendly with water bowls. Hire out tennis court and play park next door. There are toilet facilities too. If you are staying during bonfire night the beach comes alive with fireworks and the cafe and more stalls will be open.

There are toilet facilities too. If you are staying during bonfire night the beach comes alive with fireworks and the cafe and more stalls will be open.
Found in the next local town of Cromarty. Fantastic pizzas and seafood dishes. Beautiful views of the cromarty firth.

Sightseeing
Definitely visit here if your staying at rosemarkie. You can see the fillings very close to the shore. It is now paid parking or you can walk along the shore road. I find if you go near the turn of tides this is a more likely time to see the dolphins. Be careful with little ones as the sea water is very deep.

Have a gentle walk along the path, beginning opposite Albion cottage. An easy walk up a delightful wooded glen, with two attractive waterfalls. The Fairy Glen was once the scene of a well-dressing ceremony, where the children of the village decorated a pool, next to a spring, with flowers. This was said to ensure that the fairies kept the water supply clean.

Open May to September, this short crossing to Nigg is lovely. The ferry can take one car but you can go as a foot passenger. I have been on this ferry many times with my kids and we have spotted dolphins many times.

Great trail for all levels. You could easily spend the day here and it’s only a 5 minute drive from rosemarkie.
