If you don’t mind paying for admission - the Aquarium is pretty neat. There are also a lot of restaurants and shopping nearby.

This is a great beach if you have little ones. It gets crowded. However, there is grass before sand. The waves are calm because it is an inner Bay Area.

Nearby
The Pike is about a mile and a half away. You can easily walk there along the beach. Belmont is about 2.5 miles away. If you don’t feel like the trek, it is not a bad idea to use a ride service. Grocery stores are really not within walking distance. There is a drugstore on Cherry, about .2 miles away. There is a small Target on PCH. I would say the closest grocery store is Ralphs on Ocean in Belmont Shores.

Swimsuits, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and a sweatshirt. It can get a little cool at night (by Southern California standards.). One of the things I love most about the LBC is just about anything goes.
