The scenic Battenkill River runs through the town (which is also a great destination for fly fishing). Susan B. Anthony's childhood home is located just outside of town.

It is the location of several historical sites, including the home of General Schuyler (of Hamilton fame) and the Old Saratoga Reformed Church. There are also several great restaurants, bars, local food stores, and bakeries in town.
