Hands down (in our humble opinions) the best pie in town. Also, great wood fired pizza and soups.

Velocity is not only a great coffee spot with very friendly baristas, but one of the best places to sit by the sea and sip that coffee. Good salmon cream cheese bagels, too.

Lovely little restaurant by the Port Hadlock marina, with fun, quirky staff and great views. Oh, and the food's quite good, too. Everything for carnivores to vegans.

You visit Port Townsend. You walk along the ocean. You drink great coffee, eat good pizza, visit the shops, but...something's missing! Of course. It's ice cream! Locally made Elevated Ice Cream, served by friendly ice cream enthusiasts is the cure for that lack! Go there Get a cone, get a bowl. It's good. It's cold. And the view's great!

If you're visiting PT and you find yourself off bustling Water St., into the backwaters of Jefferson, just up the hill a bit from the fountain is The Fountain Cafe, a quiet, cozy little restaurant with very good food, good atmosphere, mellow attitudes.

One of the best views of the water from the coveted balcony, and often warm even on windy days, plus music in the evening and good pub grub type of food. Fun place!

Good local craft brewery with great Port Townsend tagline: Thar she brews! PT Brewing is just an integral part of PT. If you're an IPA nut like we are, try the Hop Diggity. Snack food. Music events. Down by the boatyard, another must see in PT.

Sightseeing

Describing Fort Worden is like the parable of the elephant and the blind men - it's something different for everyone. One of Port Townsend's best beaches. An art and music center. Historical museum. And good hiking up along the coastal bluffs amid the historic artillery fort built to protect the entrance to the Puget Sound. The old bunkers make a great day of exploring and the bluff views are exquisite.

Best long walking beach in PT during low tide - you can walk west for miles. All the way to Glass Beach, if you want to go sand mining for beach glass. Good for rock pooling during low tide, too. And the only break we know of for surfers. Good spot for paddle boarding and kayaking. And the walk up the meadow towards For Worden has great views of both the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains - on a clear day! There's a great, grassy picnic area near the beach. Fair warning - the parking lot gets crowded here, so parking can be tough. Going early helps.
