My favorite winery
Windmill Creek Winery is a quick 6 min drive from hiAtus! Fully renovated farm house from the 1800s on the property. Plenty of outdoor drinking space, food truck, live music on the weekends and farmers market on Sundays until 2 pm. Would highly suggest the dry rosé and truffle fries. Great for families too, as you can bring your own chairs and outside food to watch the bands. They even have rentable igloos in the winter.

Best view for happy hour! As the sun sets on the bayside over the pier you’ll hear 1812 playing in the background followed by a confetti explosion. Friendliest bartenders in all of OC with a killer fine-dining menu.

Our favorite restaurant in all of OC! If you’re a foodie who loves wine and superb cocktails, this is a must see. Start with the Wide Awake (espresso martini) or dirty Goose with blue cheese stuffed olives. For starters get the Kung Pao Calamari and duck confit special. Any entree will do, as we’ve never had a bad meal here. Most importantly, get the donut ice cream sandwich for dessert. Wide selection of wine to drink and purchase at reasonable prices.

Assateague Island is a 37-mile long barrier island located off the eastern coast of the Delmarva Peninsula facing the Atlantic Ocean. The northern two-thirds of the island is in Maryland. It is best known for its herds of feral horses, pristine beaches and the Assateague Lighthouse. The island also contains numerous marshes, bays, and coves, including Toms Cove. Bridge access for cars is possible. You can camp here too!
