Just to 20-30 minutes walk away is Stolford Beach next to Hinkley Point where there is a mixture of big rocks and sand with some rockpools. Always a quiet spot. Be careful as the tides in the Bristol Channel turn quickly and the water comes right to the sea wall each time. One walk you can take straight from the doorstep. There is also car parking should you want to drive.

Nice walk across the cliff tops that can take you for miles along the coast. You can also walk a long way along the beach but you must watch the tide - it comes in much quicker than you think and has caught out many a visitor. You may be lucky enough to find a fossil.

In Weston-super-Mare, four-legged friends are prohibited from using the beach between the Grand Pier and Royal Sands from May 1 to September 30. They're also banned from the beach at Marine Lake during the summer months.
