The only floating pub in all of Canada. The only way to get to it is via kayak or using the pub's boat shuttle service. You can then explore the island by golfcart (there are no cars).

Sightseeing

Despite being right in the harbour, going to the island feels like you are stepping into another world. There are no cars on the island just bikes and golf buggies. You get the boat over from McGregor Park. It is run by the Dinghy Dock pub.

"The Nanaimo Museum is located in downtown Nanaimo on the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. It is a dynamic community facility offering diverse interpretive programming encouraging visitors to “Make a Discovery” while exploring the history and heritage of our area. The Bastion, built between 1853-1855, is the only known remaining freestanding tower structure built by the Hudson's Bay Company. As such, it is a unique example of a defense fortification built by a company that played a major role in Canadian history. The Bastion's unusual octagonal shape and high visibility from both land and sea make it Nanaimo's premier landmark.
