Well worth the 20 minute drive! It’s a quirky coffee shop that serves excellent food (be prepared to wait in line)! If you’re lucky enough to be there when the owner is your barista, watch as this non-stop dancer (the music in there is fantastic!) makes your cappuccino! It’s amazing! Fun outdoor activity
This is a nice little swimming hole with slow moving rapids (super fun with inner-tubes). The park offers a different experience to typical walking trails. There are plenty of hills and terrain to climb and enjoy the view of the river and its potholes.
On our way to the potholes, we saw a little black bunny, baby deer and a bear ran in front of our bikes! At the potholes we were amazed by their beauty. Such a neat place to see Great place to swim and picnic

French Beach Provincial Park

Situated on the scenic Strait of Juan de Fuca on the west coast of southern Vancouver Island, French Beach Provincial Park offers much more than just beautiful hiking trails through lush forests. A wide swatch of green lawn fronts this sand and pebble beach, where visitors can relax and enjoy a picnic or take a cool dip in the ocean.
In addition to offering fabulous views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains, the 1,600-metre beach at this park is an ideal location for exploring and whale watching. The magnificent Gray whales pass by this park in the spring as they migrate to northern feeding grounds, and return again in the fall. Roaming pods of resident killer whales can also be seen offshore, as well as otters, seals and sea lions. French Beach is also a good spot to observe Bald eagles, ospreys and a variety of seabirds.

With a "wild west" reputation, it was the nearest liquor establishment to Sheringham Pt. The hotel was built in 1935 at the river mouth where ocean swell pounded at its door, and in 1984 it burned to the ground.
