Opened in 2010, this 42km cycle from Westport-Newport-Mulranny-Achill along the old railway has proven to be a huge success. As this is on the old railway line, it is predominantly flat, making it suitable for all age groups and cycling abilities. Cycle as much or as little as you wish, in a day or over a few! As Dave worked in bike hire for 10 years, he can help you plan your day as well as giving your bikes a check over to make sure they are good to go! Please ask for Bike Hire recommendations as well if you are not bringing your own!

A 40 minute drive from our home, this stunning beach has a backdrop of Clare Island and Inishturk and nice rolling waves, suitbable for all. A long beach that leads up to Silver Strand also makes this perfect for a long walk (please leave no valuables in view in car). Surf Mayo operate from here as well and we would definitely suggest a surf lesson for all ages! Lifeguards are on duty in the summer months. Best to visit when not at full tide as the beach would be 'stony'!

Set along the shore of Lough Mask, this beautiful area continues into Finney (Joyce Country), Clonbur, Cong and further afield into Connemara or south Mayo. Stunning scenery and a beautiful drive. Tourmakeady Woods and Waterfall a local favourite. Boat hire and angling available as well. Doolough (meaning Black Lake) is a stunning scenic drive between the villages of Louisburgh and Leenane along the R335. This stunning drive has Connachts highest peak - Mweelrea - on one side and the Sheefry hills the other. This is the scene of one of the darkest events in Irish Famine history - the Doolough Tragedy - of 1849. Also along this drive are the Aasleagh Falls, made famous in the movie 'The Field' (Leenane village was also the setting for much of this film) starring Richard Harris, Sean Bean, Tom Berenger and Brenda Fricker.
