Food and Drink

Personal recommendations of places to eat and drink within a short walk of our property. I have not included the large selection of restaurant chains in Cambridge. You will not go hungry or thirsty in Cambridge but hope you might find the enclosed useful.
No need to travel far to find this great local pub. You will find friendly staff, a good selection of food and a well kept selection of beers. Can be busy so please book if you plan to eat.

Short walk into the centre of town close to the market square in an old converted bank. Bar can get busy at peak times but has a nice atmosphere at all times. Great range of beer, normally over 20 beers to select from and shown on the large blackboard. Plenty of other choices with a good gin selection. Good but limited selection of food can be ordered from the bar and strongly recommend trying the Scotch Eggs (with a side of chips and curry sauce). There is a separate restaurant serving good quality and reasonably priced food. More relaxed than the bar but again normally a lively atmosphere and you can still order beer from the blackboard. Always worth booking if you plan to eat in the restaurant. www. pintshop.co.uk/locations/cambridge/

Only short walk across Parker's Piece to this restaurant. Inside the recently refurbished University Arms Hotel. If you are looking for something mid market I think this is the best value for above average restaurant food in Cambridge. I like the choice an quality of food and they have made a good job of the refurbishment. I would also recommend finding time for a pre or post meal drink in the bar. The bar is also worth a visit on its own.

Sightseeing

Although interesting to see inside the church, it is one of the few places in Cambridge with a view of the City. Great aerial views of Kings Collage and Senate House.
