This is a challenging day hike. During the five mile round trip you gain 2000 feet in elevation. There are two main look out points at the top that are amazing. On a clear day you can see sky scrapers in Seattle, Vancouver Island in Canada, and much more. At the second vantage point you can see most of Hood Canal. If you go plan to take some Cheerios or peanuts to feed the Camp Robber birds. They will usually land on your hand and eat right from your palm. If you don't have the time or desire to hike up you can also drive to each vantage point. You would drive approximately four miles north on Hwy 101 and you will see the signs to Mt. Walker. The gate is closed seasonally.
