Gracias Steve

A private, self-contained, en-suite annex, right next to the River Wye, in a beautiful, tranquil setting at Cressbrook MIll. Now renewably powered by a hydro turbine. Direct access to decking & garden so you can enjoy the water, wildlife and countryside. King size bed, TV, continental breakfast, kettle, tea/coffee/milk, toaster and a small fridge. Plenty of walks from the doorstep, cycle routes and climbing opportunities. Perfectly located to explore the Peak District - car recommended.
All on the ground floor, this is a modern extension built in 2006. As a new build, it is well insulated, has underfloor heating and has floor to ceiling glass on two sides to ensure it is light and airy. There is a table and 2 chairs where you can enjoy your tea/coffee whilst watching TV or taking in the view of the river and visiting wildlife. You have direct access to the decking and garden (shared with the owners) for a real riverside location. Through a door you have a small utility room with tea/coffee facilities (including fresh milk and a variety of teas and coffees), tabletop fridge, toaster, cutlery, crockery and glasses. Another door then takes you into your private shower room, also with underfloor heating. Towels and bedding are provided. There is 'Rural speed' broadband. Mobile signal is poor (or non-existent), but you can use WiFi calling if your phone and carrier support it - many do. We provide local OS Maps (1:25k) and some guide books for you to use during your stay.
Cressbrook Mill is a picturesque and quiet, rural location at the end of Monsal Dale. The property is perfectly located for walking, cycling, climbing and exploring the Peak District. There are numerous walks straight from the doorstep including the Monsal Trail (via path), Cressbrook Dale and walking along the beautiful River Wye via Water-cum-Jolly Dale. Monsal Head, with Stable Bar and Hobbs Cafe (limited opening hours), is a mile away on foot and can be reached without walking on the road. The popular Packhorse country pub is about a mile and a half, in Little Longstone. Both are a downhill walk on the way back! The Monsal Trail is also perfect for an easy bike ride or there are many bridleways and trails if you have a mountain bike and are more adventurous. For climbing, the Rubicon Wall is just 200m away. A venue that many climbers travel for miles to get to, or make special holiday arrangements to be near. A short walk (up hill) to Cressbrook Hall (wedding venue)

A tiny self-catering stone studio in the Peak District with stunning views and great local walks. Great for a weekend escape – or a longer walking or bird watching holiday. South facing with a charming terrace overlooking the dale. Sun loungers and sunshade provided in the summer. There are lovely walks of all levels from the door and the regular local buses open up linear walks to/from Bakewell, Matlock and Ashford-in-the-Water. Visit The Hide throughout the year, both together and alone. There’s plenty of space for one; two need choreography once the sofa bed (super comfy - new August) is down. The walls are very thick, so it’s cosy and warm in winter and cool in the summer. Even in bad weather the view through the French windows is glorious and from the terrace it’s truly magnificent. Inside The Hide, there is a comfortable double sofa bed, fridge, cooking facilities including a microwave, table and chairs, TV/DVD, shower and toilet. The shower and toilet are currently being upgraded. WiFi available on request. There are 3 pub restaurants in the village We now also have an excellent village shop selling home reared meet, vegetables, fruit, sandwiches, household goods and excellent cakes. Peak Feast specialises in vegetarian food and bread and the Post Office sells newspapers, alcohol etc. and is open in the evening. There are regular buses to Bakewell. Maximum of 2 people. No smoking. Pets are allowed. Wi-Fi/internet access.
It is in the middle of glorious countryside. Fast flowing rivers, moorland, hillsides, open fields, woodland - everything except the sea! The village has 3 shops and 3 pubs which all do food and are dog friendly. It is 4 miles from Bakewell - a great walk for the energetic - get the bus back.

Heart of the Peak District. Great for walking & cycling.

Beautiful Georgian house set in the tiny hamlet of Alport. A relaxed family home with a warm welcome. Our house is over 300 years old and is full of character ....wobbly floors, crooked stairs and bendy walls add to the charm. We love our home and are really excited to share it with you. During these trying times, I would like to reassure you that we are taking hygiene very seriously and have added extra antibacterial to our already very thorough deep clean between guests.
Our home is situated in a beautiful area of the Peak District with fabulous walks and wonderful stately homes to explore. Easy access to the wonderful Chatsworth house - a mere 10 minute drive through glorious parkland. Or if you like your stately homes on the smaller, more intimate side, we have Haddon Hall on our doorstep. A short walk from our door and you are in Youlgreave with its wonderful 13th century church. Youlgreave has 3 pubs offering excellent home cooked food and is easily walking distance from our home. I have an additional room available for family or friends, please message me for details.
Quiet hamlet situated very close to the market town of Bakewell. On the doorstep, we have the rivers Derwent and Bradford which offer great fishing. From the house there are numerous circular walks which allow you to leave the car, but for those more inclined towards a challenge, there is the famous limestone way. We have local maps and walking guide books for you to borrow whilst you are here. We are very well situated for a number of Peak District attractions and provide a full guide in your room. However, so that you can make plans, below are a number of “must see” places that are close by: Chatsworth House 4 miles Haddon Hall 1 mile Hardwick Hall. 12 miles Bakewell Town. 2.5 miles Buxton Spa Town. 12miles Matlock. 5 miles Chesterfield. 11 miles If you are visiting Chatsworth over the Christmas period, you will need to book your tickets in advance online. We have three pubs in the neighbouring village of Youlgrave, all serving food and within 10/15 mins walking. At a weekend I would recommend booking as they are all very popular.

Wensley is a hamlet in Derbyshire, England. It is located 3 miles (4.8 km) from Matlock, on the B5057. Chatsworth is 17 minutes drive away. Haddon Hall 20 minutes. Wensley is rather unique and is one of only a handful of Derbyshire villages whose names have Pagan origins. The village takes its name from Woden, the Norse God of War and there has been a settlement here since pre-Anglo-Saxon times. This `Sacred Grove of Wodan` is described in the Domesday Book of 1086 as `Wodnesleie`. It was known as `Weddenesley` in 1240, `Wedunsleye` in 1330, and finally recorded as Wensley in 1446 The villagers in Wensley were employed in the lead mining industry in the fields around the village in the 18th and 19th century. Situated in the Peak National Park, it is surrounded by rolling countryside. A great area for walkers and cyclists, or to simply relax in the quiet sunshine (sunshine not guaranteed ;>) http://www.aboutderbyshire.co.uk/cms/places/wensley.shtml

The perfect spot for anyone who enjoys the wonderful countryside of the White Peak, with its fascinating variety of dales and rolling hills. Dale Cottage enjoys an idyllic peaceful location with superb views over Bradford Dale and beyond. The cottage is cosy, with a log fire, well-equipped and comfortable. Please note that the cottage is situated on a steep bank and is therefore unsuitable for people with mobility problems.
The spacious but cosy lounge features an open grate for making log fires. There is a separate well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs, there is a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a smaller room with 4 ft. three-quarter bed (against a wall on one side). Both bedrooms have lovely views. A bathroom with bath and power shower completes the accommodation. The outhouse contains a washing machine and tumble drier. Although sleeping up to four, the cottage is most comfortable for up to three adults or 2 adults and 2 children (who don't mind sharing a bed!)
An ancient ridge village set above the River Bradford, Youlgrave is one of the friendliest and most interesting villages in the Peak. It's an ideal starting point for walks, with the Bradford Dale (almost on the doorstep of Dale Cottage) joining up with Lathkill Dale, a well-known beauty spot with stunning views and wonderful wildlife. Youlgrave itself has three excellent pubs serving good food and beer, and holds many cultural and artistic events. The highspot of the village's year is the Welldressings week in mid-summer, where the locals maintain a centuries-old tradition of constructing giant tableaux entirely from petals and leaves; these well dressings are thought to represent a sign of thanks for the gift of water.

We love our home and are really excited to share our spare rooms. It is a beautiful Georgian house, originally dating back to 1720, surrounded by amazing walks and beautifully quiet countryside. We love our home and are really excited to share it with you. During these trying times, I would like to reassure you that we are taking hygiene very seriously and have added extra antibacterial to our already very thorough deep clean between guests.

There is a lounge with a log stove which you are welcome to use and breakfast will be laid out for you to help yourselves to in the dining room.
Quiet hamlet situated very close to the market town of Bakewell. On the doorstep, we have the rivers Derwent and Bradford which offer great fishing. Behind us is the magnificent Lathkill Dale where you can easily spend a day. 11 miles If you are intending to visit Chatsworth over the Christmas period, you will need to book your ticket in advance online.

The Bakewell Old House Museum occupies one of the oldest buildings in Bakewell and dates back to 1543, it provides a fascinating glimpse into the towns past and is very interesting and informative with lots to appeal to all ages.Obviously no trip to Bakewell would be complete without sampling an original Bakewell pudding. The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop claims to have the old the original recipe and still makes the puddings by hand from the secret recipe. 2.Cycle or Walk the Monsal Trail With the Monsal Trail so close by it would be rude not to take the opportunity to cycle/walk along this old Midland Railway line which runs from Bakewell right up to Blackwell Mill, in Chee Dale. The trail offers 8.5 miles of traffic free and mud free cycling/walking and with the recently reopened tunnels offers one of the most spectacular leisure routes in Britain for cycling, walking and horse riding. The nearest cycle hire is at Hassop station which is great place to stop for a bite to eat or for a coffee and nice piece of homemade cake! Our home is based on a 4 acre plot in the middle of the Peak District. It's remote enough to feel you've escaped, but, still right on the a515 for easy access to all the Peak's can offer. You enter through a private entrance into a private hallway (the floor is tiled so perfect for storing muddy boots and wet coats). Then there is a cozy double bedroom with an ensuite shower. The house is Grade II listed with high ceilings, exposed beams and ultra-thick walls dating from the early 18th century
The room is part of our 18th century, Grade II listed former farmhouse. We have our own 4 acre wild flower meadow that you are very welcome to enjoy. It looks fantastic across the spring and summer and you can spot wild orchids, cowslips, ox eye daisies and tufted vetch (and too many others to mention). It's great for wildlife spotting (on the right day) and we get plenty of songbirds visiting the garden. The room is heated by the same central heating system as the rest of the house, but we'll also provide you with additional electric heaters to ensure you are as cozy as possible. The house does have Wi-Fi with pretty good speeds (it runs over the 4g network) but the thickness of the walls means you may struggle to get a signal in the bedroom (you can normally pick it up in your hallway). If you're on EE or 3 mobile you'll have perfect signal and data.... Anyone else and you'll need to walk into our field for a signal. The room has some basic amenities like a kettle and freeview TV but there isn't any provision to prepare any food (to be honest there are so many fantastic pubs, cafes and farmshops nearby you'll never go hungry).
We are 0.6 miles from the village of Newhaven, 0.7 miles from Biggin, and 2.3 miles from the pretty village of Hartington. Asbourne and Buxton are only a short drive away too. There are several nice walks and dales nearby and the Tissington and High Peak trails are also within walking distance

Our house is situated on the edge of Wirksworth in Millers Green, its 15 – 20 minute stroll into the centre of town either over the fields along a well-defined footpath or along the road and walking distance to Haarlem Mill. It is in a private cul-de- sac of just four houses so does not suffer from any traffic noise.
The guest bedroom which has one double bed is an excellent size with wonderful views of the rolling Derbyshire countryside. There is a wardrobe and drawers available for you to use, there is also tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The separate modern bathroom is for your private use, it has an electric shower, washbasin, toilet and bath. Our conservatory is lovely place to sit and watch the sun go down over the hills in the summer. Our garden is very colourful during the summer months and is constantly evolving, and provides another lovely place to sit and relax - bring your own wine and use our outdoor furniture for a ‘chill out’ evening. We will provide a simple breakfast suitable for vegetarians of juice, cereals, toast, fruit and yogurt along with preserves (homemade where possible), please let us know any other dietary requirements. You can also use our kitchen for the preparation and cooking of evening meals (by arrangement so were not falling over ourselves). If you wanted to eat in from the local take outs or have a simple supper or lunch of cheese, bread and wine etc. (there is a bakery & Co-Op in the center of Wirksworth which offer delightful treats) then we’ll make crockery, cutlery, glasses and space available for your use.
Wirksworth is a fairly unique and historic town full of odd nooks and crannies and the ancient and fascinating church of St Mary nestles in its small cathedral-like precinct in the centre. It has many independent shops and coffee / tea establishments. There are a number of fine pubs, some serving meals. There is also a splendid French style bistro (La Minstrel) which opens daily - advanced bookings are recommended for weekends. A little further afield many of the surrounding villages also offer additional fine dining. Wirksworth has a fuel filling station and a large Co-Op. Wirksworth also has its own heritage railway (The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway) who operate passenger services on the line between Wirksworth and Duffield mainly using heritage diesel railcars and occasionally steam locomotives. The town has well-dressings during Whitson week, and every September there is the unusual ceremony of 'Clypping', in which the church is encircled by the congregation holding hands around it. Wirksworth has the well-known Arts Festival, which happens over a September weekend. The Festival includes all forms of Art, with the Market Square the centre for music, dance and street acts while many of the houses around the village play host to many different forms of artistic expression. Tours and tour maps can be bought in the local shops during the festival. Being on the edge of the Peak District National Park and the White Peak there are many fine walks available to suit all abilities and a number can be done from our front door. Carsington Reservoir circular track is within a 30 minute walk of our home as is the traffic free High Peak trail which is suitable for walking and cycling (cycle hire is available locally). Famous Dovedale with its ‘stepping stones’ is only a short drive away. For the more energetic the gritstone edges and wild moors of the Dark Peak are only a 50 minute drive away. The historic town of Bakewell, the stately homes of Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and Kedleston Hall are all within 30 minutes by car. Matlock and Matlock Bath with its cable car to the Heights of Abraham a short 10 minute drive. The National Stone Centre, Derbyshire Eco Centre and the Mount Cook Adventure Centre also have their homes in Wirksworth. We are also with easy reach of a number of local wedding venues including Haarlem Mill (10 min walking distance), Shottle Hall and Alison House among others.

We love our home and are really excited to share it with you. During these trying times, I would like to reassure you that we are taking hygiene very seriously and have added extra antibacterial to our thorough deep clean between guests. The main part of the house is over 300 years old and is full of character and charm. We are well situated for some of the Peak Districts' most beautiful walks including the Limestone Way which passes through our hamlet, and many others right on our doorstep.
Traditional Georgian house with many period features. Your room has beautiful original windows with great views over the fields, plenty of wardrobe space and an ensuite bathroom with shower.
