Join me, a longtime mural preservationist, as I reveal the stories behind the eye-popping street art in two of Tokyo’s trendiest neighborhoods: Shibuya and Harajuku. • In between spotting graffiti tags and admiring massive murals, we’ll duck into secret alleyways, abandoned buildings, and underground spots that are only known by locals. • For daytime sessions, we’ll also stop by galleries and view current art exhibitions (when available). Kintsugi, which creates new beauty from broken pieces, has been attracting attention not only in Japan but also around the world. While there are many kintsugi methods introduced in Japan, the kintsugi technique we introduce is the most classic and essential kintsugi method using 100% natural materials and Japanese "urushi" lacquer. You will experience the highlight of one of the many processes of kintsugi restoration: decorating with gold powder. During this course, you will also be able to learn more about the history of kintsugi, other processes, and how to collect urushi lacquer using video and slides. The duration of the course is 90-120 minutes. ★Please be sure to read the following★ Please note that our method is very traditional, so we use real "urushi" lacquer. Lacquer work, including Kintsugi, require a minimum of about 5-7 days to cure. Therefore, your work will be shipped at a later date. We can even deliver to the hotel where you are staying in Japan. Not paper form. Let's see Tokyo from a different and unique point of view. We'll drive by top landmarks, including Toyosu (Tokyo Bay), Ginza, Nihonbashi, Kanda, Akihabara, Ueno and Asakusa. We will take original and unforgettable photos of you. We'll start from our shop, which is northeast of Tokyo, and we'll have an exciting ride on the public roads. Ginza will be one of the more busier areas, everyone walking on the street will look at us and want to take photos—you'll feel like you're a movie star.
