The area offers many beautiful hiking trails through the unique mountains with jaw-dropping landscapes and is perfect to use as base camp and while hiking the area for few days. Original restored turf farmhouse in the highlands

Sænautasel gives you a opportunity to experience living as people did in the olden days in Iceland. You should therefore be aware that there is no electricity. Everybody is sleeping in “Baðstofan”, which the space over the kitchen is called in Icelandic. Breakfast and/or Dinner is available for extra charge. You need to book this in advance at least 2 days prior. If you decide to book 2 nights you should be aware that Sænautasel functions as a guided museum from 12-17 PM.

We invite you to our log cottage with veranda in the middle of an unspoiled nature. From the cottage you have a magnificent view of the mountains, the horses of the farm and the vastness of the landscape. You can take short or long walks and go horseback riding in every direction without any human disturbance or traffic. A perfect place for people who want to experience nature, silence and space- and especially for those who love horses.

Óbót 1. — riverside cabin

Óbót is a small cabin (13.5 square meters) and has accommodations just outside Egilsstaðir and has a great riverside view. The cabin has two single beds, private bathroom and free WiFi. The facilities are extremely suitable for two people. A variety of hiking trails are nearby and guests are allowed to go fishing for free in the river called Rangá. The nearest airport is Egilsstaðir Airport, 8 km from the cabin location.

The surrounding area consists of a river, trees, northern lights, beautiful nature and during the winter time you might even see some reindeers wandering around.

Build in 1925, the beautiful house called Sólbakki is one of Neskaupstaðurs oldest treasures. Sólbakki is in the centre of the town with the ocean just a few meters away. Restaurants, shops and swimming pool are less than 10 min walking distance.

The house is 50 sqm. with all equipment for a pleasant stay in the East. In the kitchen you will find everything necessary to cook. Around the house is a patio to relax with your morning coffee or watching the sunset in the night.
