Cosy Log Cabin in Aith, Shetland

Relax and recharge with the family in the peaceful and picturesque village of Aith. This is our family holiday home, close to our family in the quiet and friendly village of Aith, Shetland. It is a great location as the village has a shop, Leisure Centre, Harbour and Marina, play park and is a 5 minute walk to the fantastic ‘Michael’s Wood’. This award winning woodland and trail was planted by family in memory of our cousin and so is a really special place for us which we hope you will enjoy.

Waddle Self Catering

The Waddle is a traditional Shetland croft house, refurbished to offer a homely and comfortable stay for guests. Situated in a peaceful, quiet, remote location just over a mile from the nearby village of Walls, tucked in under the hill overlooking a sea-loch, it's a perfect place to enjoy Shetlands wildlife, scenery, peace and freedom. The Waddle is situated on an active croft. We have approximately 250 sheep with lambing in the spring, silage baling in the summer and feeding in the winter.

Baliasta Chalet, Unst

Modern, newly refurbished chalet in a quiet area of Baltasound. The property is light, airy and surprisingly spacious. It’s in a perfect location for exploring Unst, with its many beaches, walks and interesting places to visit, as well as the neighbouring islands of Yell and Fetlar. Conveniently located near shops and within walking distance of the leisure centre. The chalet has many features to make it more accessible including a ramp, accessible toilet & shower if required. Free Wi-fi.

East-Gate Selfcatering

East-Gate was built new in 2018 the property is located in central Shetland and beautifully finished. Outside the patio door takes you onto a decked area which you can sit out on for your morning cuppa or evening glass of wine or to simply take in the scenery . It has the latest air to air heating and air con. We are very lucky to have a hot spot for otter sighting on our door step just a short walk down the field. The sea views and coastal walks makes this an ideal tranquil location.

Traditional crofter's cottage in peaceful Unst

A traditional Shetland Crofter's cottage in Baliasta, Unst, Shetland. Close by to the Loch of Cliff, near to the local shops and leisure centre. We absolutely love our little spot and enjoy opening it up to our many well-travelled guests. The cottage is very cosy, has a wood burning stove, and a good-sized garden. Please be aware though, that it is a very old house and as such has some rustic quirks. While we are happy to accommodate children please be aware all beds are doubles.

Scarpoe's Kitchen is an ancient "Kytja" house in the beautiful island of Yell, in Shetland. It has been completely restored and is offered as a high quality and unique place to stay. The former crofthouse is the perfect spot to get away from it all. It is easy to lose yourself in “da Herra,” a magical place where ancient legends of giants and trolls abound. The air is clean and summer days are long. A feeling of age, peace and endurance is ever present in this beautiful valley.

Our outdoor seating area is perfect for relaxing and watching the sunset after an exhilarating day hiking and sightseeing.

Welcome to my beautiful cottage in Unst. The cottage has a lot of history behind it and used to be owned by the poet Jackie Renwick. It's a birdwatcher's paradise with two sycamore trees, bush cover and a wildlife pond. See below for a list of interesting birds. Birds of interest spotted in Cameron Cottage garden: Spotted flycatcher, pied flycatcher, redstart, yellow-browed warbler, barred warbler, water rail, snow bunting and tree sparrow.

The Peerie Neuk is a sustainably built tiny eco home with all the comforts of a cosy house just a bit tinier! There is a double bed and fold out sofa, suitable for one adult or two children. There’s is a small kitchen with hob, kettle and little fridge (large enough for two bottles of prosecco 🤣). There is a wood burning stove with oven. The oven will keep things warm. There’s on demand hot water, shower and compost toilet.

Big bay windows look out over the town's historic Hillhead - the perfect location for viewing the world-famous Up Helly Aa fire festival, as the spectacular torchlight evening procession starts from right outside, making this the ideal view point.
