Welcome to Aquila Cottage which is directly on the Hadrians Wall Path, Pennine Way and Cycleway Route 72. The cottage is in an unparallelled location just 150 yards from "the best bit" of Hadrians Wall at Walltown Crags and directly opposite the Roman Army Museum. There is a bus stop right (services include AD122) outside. We are perfectly located for walking, visiting the sites along Hadrians Wall, stargazing events at Walltown & Twice Brewed as well as visiting the lakes & Scottish Borders

The private entrance means the space is completely your own to relax and enjoy a bit of TV or film, or find out more about the area and it's history The main room has a comfortable king size bed, TV and seating area. Stonecrop is a much loved cottage and enjoys a tranquil setting with a large, attractive garden, situated in a stunning part of Northumberland. Guests are welcome to wander through our adjoining field to reach the banks of the river South Tyne. It was built in 1760 and has retained its original character whilst benefiting from all mod cons. Many guests return year after year and dogs are welcome too. Stonecrop is within easy reach of Hadrian’s Wall, the Yorkshire Dales, the Borders and Lakes.

Swinburne Castle

Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

A very cosy, modern shepherds hut in an idyllic part of Northumberland. Handcrafted on site it has en-suite facilities, underfloor heating and an enclosed patio with seats and a chiminea. We have excellent walking and cycling from site. The Pennine way is a field away, two disused railway lines, Lambley viaduct and riverside walks. WINDY HALL - Secluded luxury with stunning views

Windy Hall is somewhere very special. High in the Pennines it offers one of the most magnificent views in England. You may want to stay and enjoy the peace & quiet, but we are ideally placed for trips west to the Lake District, east to the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, and north to Hadrian's Wall. It's unusual in that you have to walk the last 240 metres to the house, though we will bring up your luggage in our 4WD. But don't let this put you off; please just read our reviews!

The container is a 5 minute walk from the picturesque Talkin village which has a friendly pub serving food. A woodburning stove (logs supplied) ensures the container stays cosy in all weathers. It makes an excellent base to explore Hadrian's Wall, the North Lakes and the Eden Valley.. or a perfect stop off point on your way to or from Scotland.
