Off Grid Converted Sugar Shack

This little rustic OFF GRID converted sugar shack is perfect for a quiet getaway. There are 2 solar panels that feed the lighting and water pump; limited, non-drinking water for the 2 sinks; and compostable toilet. There is no shower and no fridge. A small cooler, an urn of drinking water and firewood are provided. The shack is on our 35 acre property, with our home 500 ft down the lane. You will have access to our property to walk through the maple forest and wildflower meadow.

40 minutes west of Kanata, ON in Lanark Highlands, 20 kms west of Almonte. The Gate House is a renovated 150 year old log building with 2 single beds, in floor heating, bathroom with shower & kitchenette with hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, small fridge & microwave, dining & sitting area. Vous aurez l’occasion de pratiquer diverses activités telles que la randonnée pédestre, le kayak, le canoë, la raquette et le ski de fond. Nous accueillons avec plaisir vos animaux de compagnie.

The Perched cabin is one of our three cabins. We also have the Apple Tree and the Poplar cabin. This is glamping at its best. Window walls letting light into every side. A sleeping loft. Built with logs. Well equipped for cooking. Heated with woodstove - firewood included. In the middle of the forest. A lot of trails to enjoy. No neighbours. The perfect spot to unwind. We are farmers, a precise time of arrival is important. You are welcome to visit the farm.
