Writer’s Block retreat is the perfect romantic getaway for couples or writers and artists. It was selected as 1 of 11 finalists in the 2022 Airbnb Best Nature Stay for Aus & NZ. Set on 27 acres and surrounded by gums and chestnut trees, this private rural retreat is within a 10-minute drive to cafes, restaurants, shops, picturesque walks and the famous Puffing Billy. We are only 2 minutes walk to the Great Victorian Rail Trail with no major roads to cross, so its a great stop over for bike riders. We are approximately 45 minutes to the base of Mount Bulla and 5 minutes walk to Lake Eildon. 15 minute walk along rail trail or 3 minute drive gets you to the hotel that has meals every day. The apartment has a kitchenette that includes a Microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, coffee machine, hotplate, all cutlery, Airfryer crockery etc.. BBQ and Pizza.

You will wake to the sound of native birds and will definitely see kangaroos and possibly goannas, lizards, wombats and the resident echidna. If you decide to venture out, Mansfield is just 10 minutes away. It has a bustling retail centre which includes many great food/dining options and a wide variety of attractions/activities.

What was once our tiny family home now sits on a little farm for you to enjoy, looking over the orchard and forest. Your own driveway will lead you out to the little house, past our private residence and orchard. You can rest on the deck, lay on the grass or soak in the tub. With no WiFi or TV you can disconnect for a while and let the surrounds recharge you. Wander with the chickens in the orchard, take yourself out into the forest or explore the Yarra Valley.
