Lo que King County tiene para ofrecer

Taller de soplado de vidrio
While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and glass blowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses and a face mask with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We can be flexible. Feel free to reach out to us to schedule a specific date and time or a private group if you don't see it on our calendar. Other things to note... Your pieces will be ready to be picked up in 24 hours. Shipping available with additional fee.
Clase privada sobre las setas
Join me at my home in NW Seattle to learn about from an experienced mushroom forager and grower. I will guide you through the process of finding and identifying the most popular edible mushrooms in our region. We will use photo, video, custom-made illustrated guides, and preserved mushrooms to learn the basics of identification. I will share where I go, and how I look for new spots. We will also spend 20-30 minutes in my mini mushroom lab where I will walk you through the basics of growing mushrooms. This is a good starting point for those interested in growing, and it's also useful to understand more about how fungi work. Please ask about alternate times, booking guided tours, or team-building events.

Visita el santuario de animales de Heartwood Haven
During the tour, we meet and interact with pigs, chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Sometimes a cat or dog makes an appearance too. We walk through the sanctuary and talk about what animals here have survived and how they have overcome hardships. Pigs like Delilah, Maple, and Otis flop over for belly rubs, and turkeys and chickens like affection and snuggles too. Everyone loves snack time at the sanctuary! The sanctuary is home to 45 pigs of all sizes. You will meet big 1000lbs pigs, piglets, naked pigs, furry pigs, pigs who love belly rubs and snout kisses. We also visit the rescued hens and turkeys who love to flock around your feet and ask for their favorite treats. Other things to note Wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Boots or waterproof shoes are recommended. During the summer, sneakers are good too. We will be walking on grass, high heels aren't recommended. Don’t forget sunscreen or a hat on a sunny day. This experience is great for groups and great for team-building.

Recorrido culinario por el mercado de Pike Place
We will take you on a culinary tasting adventure of Pike Place Market. We will be stopping at 9 different artisanal vendors; learning about local production and tasting your way through the flavors of the Northwest. Other things to note: The tour takes place rain or shine. Please email if you have dietary restrictions. Not all of our routes stop at the same places in Pike Place! We do book private tours for 9-16 people. Please direct message us to learn more. Gratuity is not included in the price. Our team also conducts a, more off the beaten path, tour on Fridays and Saturdays of South Lake Union. There are small bites over many stops and limited places to sit down. This experience requires a medium physical fitness level due to hills, stairs and uneven terrain. We do cover some distance and the market is crowded during the Summer. If you have to drive and park please leave a lot of extra time in the high season. The lots do fill up. Lastly, due to our tight schedule and wanting to show you as much of the market during a short time, we don't have time to shop during the tour. We encourage you to come back after the tour with your discount card to make purchases.

Cultivo de hongos psicodélicos en Seattle
This truly "only in Seattle" experience teaches how to grow your own psychedelic mushrooms from low cost supplies using a method you can easily replicate in your own home, wherever you live. Please bring three pint sized mason jars with lids and rings. I can describe them in more detail after you book. I provide all other supplies. Because of a 2021 ruling from the Seattle City Council that decriminalizes the cultivation of psychedelic fungi for “religious, spiritual, healing, or personal growth practices", I am able to offer this class completely legally. We'll talk about the evolutionary history of fungus, how different cultures have used and valued psychedelic experiences, and the entheogenic health movement. I leave time for questions, and do my best to customize this experience for you. At the end of this 2.5-3 hour class, you'll leave with your own custom mushroom grow, and instruction on how to start your own tiny psychedelic mushroom farm. I have a unique background as a forager and published health researcher. I bring a unique mixture of knowledge on health, ecology, and mycology. Teaching my first hundred students in my apartment for this class has been a joy. I hope you'll join me soon! Notes: I have two cats, and live up three flights of stairs. I ask that you test for COVID before attending.
