The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

Plenty of games and books etc for the young ones. Carrick Bay has plenty of opportunities to fish, swim, walk, cycle, sail, canoe, windsurf or paddle board. Or of course just chill with a cold drink and stargaze. Friday check in, 3 night minimum booking in winter months and minimum 7 days from April to November.

The Old Fish House

Everybody loves The Old Fish House! With stunning river views it is a beautiful and peaceful cottage, yet a three minute walk from the nearest shop and the harbour. It is a great and relaxing base to enjoy the culture, coastal scenery or walking around the area. The house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and we love well behaved dogs. There is a staircase between kitchen/diner and lounge so the cottage may not be ideal for children under 4 years old.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located two bedroomed apartment in historic Dumfries. Connections with our national poet Robert Burns surround you. His pub, the Globe, his house and his mausoleum are all within a few minutes’ walk. The Old Toll House Petite and perfectly formed

Petite but perfectly formed The Old Toll house is a perfect base to explore Dumfries and Galloway. The Old Toll house was built in 1813 the same time as the bridge was built. It was the original Toll house used to collect the payment for people crossing between Newton Stewart and Minnigaff. The old wooden bridge and ford was replaced in 1813 John Rennie (The Elder) won the honour of the commission. Thomas Telford his competitor also submitted plans. Thank you for your booking.

The old part of the house was originally a fisherman’s cottage built in the 1700’s, with its original beams, and the open plan modern extension gives a stunning panoramic view of the river, the birdlife and the landscape beyond.
