I call the apartment 'An Tearmann', which means the sanctuary. Step into a spacious haven designed to cater to your every need. The Blue Yard

The Blue Yard is a tiny home on the beautiful drive-on island of Aughinish, 12 km outside the sea-side town of Kinvara, named one of the top ten beautiful villages in Ireland. Aughinish Island is accessed by a 1 km causeway (not tidal) and is an area of unspoilt beauty with local pebble beaches a five minute walk away and the sandy beach of Traught a ten min drive away (8 km). You'll be staying on the Clare-Galway border with both the wildness of the Burren and Galway city at your doorstep.

A great place to come back to after a day exploring all the area has to offer.

Just a short drive away are the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin village and Aran Island ferries. Our cottage is the perfect bolthole for exploring the unique beauty of the Burren and Co Clare's incredible Wild Atlantic Way.

A lovely hiking trail is just up the hill past St. Patrick's Church. Located in the village of New Quay on the scenic Wild Atlantic Way, we are on the route to Ballyvaughan and the Ciffs of Moher. (A car is necessary - we are in a very beautiful rural area with very limited public transport.)

It adjoins my 150 year old stone farmhouse, and offers a self-contained holiday space ideal for those who like peace and quiet 'off the beaten track'. You are very welcome in “The Mews”, a charming converted barn located on the grounds of the 18th Century restored Fomerla House, also called Castleview Cottage. The Mews, a traditional barn with the convenience of modern life, is ideally located in a tranquil setting, convenient for exploring the sights of County Clare. It is 25 minutes from Shannon Airport, 15 minutes from Ennis, the medieval capital town of Clare and 10 minutes from Tulla, the local town.
